Drawing of Wordsworth

Four Culture has been ushering in the new year with the launch of a new project with The Wordsworth Trust. Culminating in the 250th anniversary of the poet’s birth, Reimagining Wordsworth will celebrate his life and times in fresh and contemporary ways, updating his story for the 21st century. With the help of a Heritage Lottery Fund £4.1million project grant, the project will overhaul the trust’s branding and transform Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum, celebrating his legacy and shining a light on the often untold chapters of one of our greatest wordsmiths.

Challenging preconceptions of his work, the campaign will explore Wordsworth’s journey from the young radical who celebrated the French Revolution, to his home in Grasmere where he composed some the English language’s most famous poetry. We can’t wait to get stuck in, encourage more people to enjoy his work, visit the newly refurbished visitor centre and museum…and make many more trips to the inspiration behind much of his work, the Lake District.

We will be announcing more developments to the campaign in the coming weeks.
