Four Culture has been working with Four Travel and its client Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to position Singapore as Asia’s leading arts destination.
As part of the campaign, we promoted Singapore Art Week (SAW) which returned for its seventh edition from 19-27 January. It was a nine-day celebration of the visual arts, aptly titled Art Takes Over, with activities and events spread across the city’s galleries, museums and independent art spaces. The programme included Southeast Asia’s first-ever exhibition on Minimalism at National Gallery Singapore & ArtScience Museum; the inaugural edition of S.E.A. Focus, a new commercial gallery showcase for Southeast Asian modern and contemporary art at Gillman Barracks, and a tour of vibrant street art on ARTWALK Little India. Frieze Academy made its debut during SAW, in partnership with Frieze and STB, for a symposium bringing together international museum professionals from across the sector to share insights into the burgeoning museum scene in the region.
Four Culture and STB organised a press trip for journalists from Art Monthly, ArtRabbit and Dazed Digital to experience the highlights of Singapore Art Week over three days. ArtRabbit provided a dedicated SAW webpage and app during the art week, as well as live coverage of the event via its social media channels. SAW was well previewed too, with coverage across the likes of ARTNET, The Art Newspaper, Condé Nast Traveller and Elephant.
