Four Culture work year-round with PATROL, a body who look after Parking And Traffic Regulation Outside London. In order to encourage councils to improve the way they report their parking services, they hold the annual PARC awards and recognise those councils who have done particularly well.
We run the event and PR for the award ceremony, which takes place at the House of Commons and is sponsored by Huw Merriman MP. This year, we had broadcaster (and former MP) Gyles Brandreth host the occasion, as his father wrote a funny about parking back in the 70’s. He hit exactly the right note and had the audience weeping with laughter with his wonderful stories, which included his father buying him a toy parking meter as a child, and a warning (learnt by bitter experience) that parking and romance do not always mix.
