Members of Four Travel are currently working on Britain’s annual National Ferry Fortnight, which this year takes place from the 14 to 28 April. Now in its tenth year, National Ferry Fortnight is run by Discover Ferries, the industry body for the ferry sector, as a two-week showcase of Britain’s extensive 75-plus ferry routes and the benefits of travel by sea.
The theme for this year is “take your passion with you” – highlighting that ferry travel is an enabler for people to follow their own personal enthusiasms, whether that’s taking their bike, family, pet, surfboard or caravan on holiday. Ferry travel also enables wildlife enthusiasts to spot marine wildlife from the deck of the ferry and helps food and wine lovers to bring back a vehicle full of wine, boutique gins, craft beers or gourmet delicacies.
From securing coverage in the travel sections of national newspapers and working with special interest organisations such as Cycling UK and ORCA to running a social media programme and organising a press trip to Ireland (via ferry, of course!), the team is working hard to ensure that as wide an audience as possible discovers the benefits of travelling by ferry.
