Today, A Higher Loyalty, the hotly anticipated new book by former FBI director James Comey, is published by Pan Macmillan, a longstanding client of Four Culture.

In A Higher Loyalty, Comey explores what good, ethical leadership looks like and how it drives sound decisions. Using examples from some of the highest-stakes situations in the past two decades of American government, Comey shares yet-unheard anecdotes from his long and distinguished career.

Comey served as Director of the FBI from 2013 to 2017, appointed to the post by President Barack Obama.  He previously served as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and the United States Deputy Attorney General in the administration of President George W. Bush. From prosecuting the mafia and Martha Stewart to helping change Bush administration policies on torture and electronic surveillance to overseeing the Hillary Clinton e-mail investigation as well as ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, Comey has been involved in some of the most consequential cases and policies of recent history.

The book has already gained huge national and international coverage, including the covers of The Guardian, Daily Telegraph and The Times, and reviews and news coverage across media on both sides of the Atlantic.

To mark the publication day, Four Culture has organised an exclusive panel event for Pan Macmillan at Waterstones Piccadilly, hosted by Newsnight’s Emily Maitlis, with a panel made up of veteran political commentators; Jonathan Freedland (The Guardian, BBC Radio 4), Anne McElvoy (The Economist, London Evening Standard, BBC) and Clodagh Harrington, Associate Professor of American Politics at De Montfort University.

Emily Maitlis then flies to New York to interview James Comey for BBC Newsnight, as a UK broadcast exclusive on Thursday night, before he embarks on a tour of the US.

Expect the first reviews to start appearing later this week!
