Earlier in May Four Culture's Dotti Irving and Miriam Dennis jetted off to New York to hold not one but two Man Booker Prize events with 2017 winner, George Saunders.
Over 250 people packed into the first hot-ticket event at the New York Public Library to listen in as Library Director & Curator, Paul Holdengraber, quizzed George on how he came to create his prize-winning novel, Lincoln in the Bardo. The Man Booker Prize partnered with NYPL on the event, a break-through in targeting new audiences in the US.
The following evening we ran a private, invitation-only reception at The Morgan Library and Museum on Madison Avenue for sponsor Man Group and New York’s literary set. As the champagne flowed George was interviewed by New York Times journalist Wyatt Mason. Part of the discussion focussed on how winning the prize had changed George’s life, the answer in a nutshell? Beyond recognition!
